For many Danes living in a foreign country is a welcome break from the structures of Denmark, the bad weather, the tax man, etc, etc. Some have been living outside the Danish borders for many years, and for some it is their first time away from the Danish safety nets.
Danish Society in South Africa is a society that caters for the young, the old, the experienced, the rookies and all those in between.
When Danish Society gets together it is usually about a certain Danish tradition that we try to up-hold. We do this, as the tradition give us that “Danish” feeling, and as much as some of us try to escape it, it is always what we miss the most when living abroad.
The Board at Danish Society South Africa has put a list of events together for the year. These events will make you feel that “Danish” feeling (Please view event page), and we urge you to attend these events, especially if you want to meet other Danes and have a good time.
We, the Board Members, do however have a more practical side to us, besides being excellent event organizers. We are a great tool for new Danes moving to South Africa, as we can assist in basically any issue you might encounter. Our network is vast, and we can usually assist with any information you may require before, and after, you have moved to South Africa.
